Welcome! If you are looking for illustration, surface pattern and graphic design made with purpose and meaning, you are in the right place.
Hi, my name is Carolina Reis. I am the designer behind azuliluza™. I was born in Portugal and I am based in T’karonto (Toronto). I love illustration and everything patterns because, as Orla Kaylee beautifully puts it, “they make you happy without you even noticing it”. Visual stories captivates us whereas repeating shapes are both stimulating and their predictable rhythm is calming. In continuity with my art practice, I am inspired by rich textures and intricate networks that relate to the complexity and interconnectivity in everything. I am also an artist and curator. To know more about my art, follow this link: carolinareis.art. In my art and design, I aim to translate my wonder for my surroundings and the workings of the universe.
Being socially and environmentally responsible in all parts of my work is important for me. I choose natural, recycled and local materials and produce zero waste as much as possible. I am always searching for ways to reduce my footprint. Ultimately, I aspire to render my activities completely neutral to the planet.
